Blazanovic family emigrated from Bosnia in 1994

The first Bosnian family that St. Lukes sponsored was Boban, Sanda and daughter Andrea. They came to us from Kakanj, near Sarajevo. They have since added a son, Sasha, born in July 1997. They were sworn in as U.S. Citizens after five years of residency. In 1999 Boban graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College with a degree in drafting and design. He now works for Newport News Waterworks as an Engineering Technician. Sanda works at ITW Southland in Norfolk as an Accounting Supervisor. They purchased a home in Newport News in 1999. In 2003 they opened a store in York County called Euro Foods where they sell foods, candies, wine and beverages from various European countries.
