Outreach Ministry

Outreach Ministry focuses on evangelism and hospitality. Every member of St. Luke’s is an outreach minister. Our Book of Discipline describes our mission to proclaim the gospel and to welcome people into the body of Christ.

Outreach Ministry at St. Luke’s also includes these activities:

· Hospitality Center - Staffed welcome booth in the Narthex with lots of informational brochures, sign-up sheets, etc.

· Shepherding Ministry - Contacting first time visitors by email or phone.

· Parking Lot Greeters - Be the first point of contact for a new visitor to help them find their way around.

· Fellowship Hosting - Hosts at the coffee hour between services in the courtyard.

· Reading Volunteers - Tutoring at Grafton Bethel Elementary.

· New Neighbor Packets - Delivering information/welcome packets for new neighbors of congregation members.

· Church Sign Ministry - Outreach messages on our changeable letter church sign.

· Drive-thru Nativity - Christmas outreach with dramatic interpretation of scenes from the Christmas and Easter stories.

· Singles Ministry

· Mentoring New Comers - Assisting them in “plugging in” to St. Luke’s UMC.

· Outreach Ministry Team - Meets monthly to plan future Outreach programs.

· Bread Ministry - Provides loaves of homemade bread for first time visitors.

· Preschool Story Hour - Summer story time.

· Children’s Worship Packets - Fill activity Packets for children to use during services.

· Rethink Church TV Commercials—Lent, Back-to-School, and Advent.

· Community Carnival - Fall community outreach for our community neighbors to come have a good time in fellowship.
